Pokémon’s March 14 product showcase described more than 40 Trainer’s Pokémon, making named Trainer partnerships the expansion’s defining feature . Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together brought back Trainer’s Pokémon: cards that identify the associated Trainer in the Pokémon’s name. The publisher’s announcement traces the concept to [Gym Heroes](https://snapholo.com/en/pokemon/en/gym-heroes/), connecting this expansion to an earlier approach to depicting Trainer partnerships . **Quick Answer:** Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together restored Trainer’s Pokémon, whose names identify their Trainer. Pokémon’s product showcase counted more than 40 across the expansion . That total is distinct from the four advertised Trainer’s Pokémon ex; the ex count does not represent every Trainer’s Pokémon in the set . This is a historical release account. The publisher announced the expansion on January 9, 2025, ahead of its March launch . Dexerto’s release coverage likewise carries a January 9, 2025 update date . Those dates distinguish the original announcement from later discussion of the set. ## Which Trainers and Pokémon headline Journey Together? N’s Zoroark ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Iono’s Bellibolt ex and Hop’s Zacian ex headline Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together. The Pokémon Company International named these partners in its announcement, illustrating how Trainer’s Pokémon identify the associated Trainer directly in the card’s name . - **N’s Zoroark ex** — N’s featured partner. - **Lillie’s Clefairy ex** — Lillie’s featured partner. - **Iono’s Bellibolt ex** — Iono’s featured partner. - **Hop’s Zacian ex** — Hop’s featured partner. These names follow the publisher’s official expansion announcement. The publisher traces Trainer’s Pokémon to Gym Heroes and says their return was previewed at the 2024 Pokémon World Championships . The returning concept connects the Pokémon depicted on a card with a named Trainer, making that partnership part of the card’s identity. > “Trainer’s Pokémon cards will showcase the special bond shared between a powerful Pokémon Trainer and their Pokémon” — The Pokémon Company International, January 9, 2025 announcement . The headline partners are a starting point for exploring the expansion’s Trainer-linked cards. Pokémon’s product showcase describes more than 40 Trainer’s Pokémon across Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together . That wider roster is the relevant scope for collectors interested in the returning concept. Treat the featured partners as examples when browsing the expansion; a collection organized around Trainer’s Pokémon extends beyond the headline ex cards. ## When did Journey Together launch in stores and Pokémon TCG Live? Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together launched in stores on March 28, 2025, following its availability in Pokémon TCG Live on March 27, 2025 . The Pokémon Company International’s announcement set out separate prerelease, digital and tabletop milestones, giving players different starting points depending on how they played. | Milestone | Date | Channel | Source | | -------------------- | --------------- | ----------------------------------- | --------------------------------- | | Announcement | January 9, 2025 | Publisher announcement | The Pokémon Company International | | Prereleases began | March 15, 2025 | Participating independent retailers | The Pokémon Company International | | Digital availability | March 27, 2025 | Pokémon TCG Live | The Pokémon Company International | | Tabletop release | March 28, 2025 | Retail stores | The Pokémon Company International | Prereleases began at participating independent retailers before the tabletop release, offering an earlier opportunity to play with the expansion . That distinction matters when reading older event listings: a prerelease date marked an early-play event, while the retail release marked the expansion’s broader tabletop launch. Dexerto, citing PokéBeach, reported the fuller prerelease window as March 15–23, 2025 . The publisher’s announcement confirmed the March 15 start but did not specify a March 23 endpoint . The wider window therefore belongs to Dexerto’s reporting, rather than the publisher’s stated schedule. ## What card categories and product formats were announced? Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together’s announced lineup included Trainer’s Pokémon ex, Pokémon ex and illustration-focused rarities, with products offered as booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and collections. The Pokémon Company International’s January 9, 2025 announcement listed the advertised card categories below . These figures describe the expansion’s advertised composition; the product formats describe how it was packaged for sale. | Advertised card category | Announced count | | --------------------------------- | --------------- | | Trainer’s Pokémon ex | 4 | | Pokémon ex | 16 | | Illustration rare Pokémon | 11 | | Special illustration rare Pokémon | 6 | | Hyper rare gold-etched cards | 3 | These are advertised category counts, not an exhaustive checklist or mutually exclusive quantities to sum into a set total. The publisher announcement presents them as expansion highlights, so adding the rows would not establish how many distinct cards belong in a complete collection. The announced product formats were: - Booster packs. - Elite Trainer Boxes. - Collections. Both the publisher’s announcement and Dexerto’s release coverage identify these formats. The distinction matters when comparing a set checklist with a shopping list: a card category describes part of the expansion, while a product format identifies a packaged purchase. For collectors, the category table provides a starting point for deciding whether to focus on Trainer’s Pokémon ex or particular rarities. For buyers choosing sealed products, compare the individual product listing’s stated contents with that collecting goal. The expansion-wide category figures do not specify what any particular booster pack, Elite Trainer Box or collection will contain, and should not be read as a promise of particular pulls. ## How does Lillie’s Clefairy ex’s Full Moon Rondo calculate damage? Lillie’s Clefairy ex’s Full Moon Rondo does 20 damage plus 20 for each Benched Pokémon on both players’ sides, according to Pokémon’s official strategy article . Count your opponent’s Benched Pokémon alongside your own; counting only your side understates the attack’s damage whenever the opposing Bench contains Pokémon. The following example shows the arithmetic derived from that official explanation, before other effects modify the result: - With five Pokémon on your Bench and five on your opponent’s Bench, the attack counts 10 Benched Pokémon . - The resulting calculation is 20 + (20 × 10) = 220 damage. This is a calculated result for the stated board, rather than an unconditional maximum . Dexerto’s set overview mentions a potential 100 additional damage . That figure should not be read as a general ceiling: the official explanation includes both players’ Benches, so the bonus depends on their combined occupancy . For play, the useful distinction is between the printed damage formula and the result for a particular board. Count the Benched Pokémon on each side, combine those counts, then apply the formula before accounting for other effects. The example explains how the attack scales with Bench occupancy; it does not establish tournament performance or promise the same damage whenever Lillie’s Clefairy ex attacks. ## Where could players buy or play Journey Together, and what prices are verified? ![Journey Together New Expansion Battle event](https://snapholo.com/news/content/images/2026/10/journey-together-trainers-pokemon-2025-body-6.jpg) Image: © Pokémon / [asia.pokemon-card.com](https://asia.pokemon-card.com/sg/archives/6721/) Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together reached players through participating independent retailers, Pokémon TCG Live and tabletop products. The publisher announced prereleases beginning March 15, 2025, digital availability on March 27 and the tabletop launch on March 28 . These historical release channels establish how the expansion launched; they do not establish current store inventory. The publisher’s launch announcement provides the release context, but current retail and secondary-market prices remain unverified. Before buying, check the exact product or individual card, its condition, the seller’s stock status and the total checkout cost. A launch announcement should not be treated as a current offer or a price benchmark. Singapore also had a separate regional play program. The official Singapore Trainers Website documented New Expansion Battles with the following schedule and rules: - **Event window:** March 28–April 27, 2025, with dates varying by shop . - **Deck requirement:** A 60-card deck containing at least four Pokémon cards from Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together . - **Championship Points:** These events awarded no Championship Points . Singapore’s New Expansion Battles were distinct from prereleases, and that regional announcement did not establish a worldwide event program. Its deck requirements should not be carried over to other formats or current events. For a purchase, verify the specific listing; for organized play, check the organizer’s current event page and deck rules before attending. ## Frequently asked questions ### When was Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together released?
